Tue Oct 22 Leave Corning 9am Wegmans, Elmira 9:30am Holiday Inn, Waverly 10am, then Wegmans JC, at 11am, on a comfortable bus to Newark airport. We will have a packed lunch on the way, with one rest stop. Check in approx 3pm, United Flight UA40S at 5:20pm, overnight nonstop to Rome, dinner on flight.
Wed Oct 23 Land in Rome FCO airport approx. 7:30am, collect bags, rest stops, coffee & light breakfast, then 11am train to Venice arrives approx. 3:30pm. Enjoy the clean, comfortable and rapid trains of Italy, light lunch on train. A few minutes shuttle brings us to our B&B “agriturismo,” Check in and rest a bit. Walk down the street to dinner 7pm nearby.

Thu Oct 24 8am breakfast, shuttle 9am to Venice. 9:30 Hop On Hop Off water tour of Grand Canal. 11am walking tour of San Marco & Doge’s Palace. lunch on your own in Venice, spend the rest of the afternoon on your own, by water or on foot. Meet for dinner 6pm at Trattoria il Vagone, 106 Calle Priuli dei Cavaletti. Meet Flixbus at 9:30pm, return to B&B.
Fri Oct 25 9am breakfast, meet Flixbus 10am. Today we take a round trip train 11am to Verona, of Romeo & Juliet fame. Hop On Hop Off Tour of the Duomo, San Zeno Basilica, Verona’s Roman Arena, and of course Juliet’s house. Meet back at Verona Porta Nuova train station for 5:30pm train home. Flixbus will return us to Tessera. Dinner and entertainment 7pm at Eden Venezia Ristorante, walk home to bed after.
Sat Oct 26 8am breakfast, meet bus 8:30am for train trip 9:30am to Florence (Firenze.) Arrive approx. 11:30am. Pleasant walk or brief taxi to leave bags at hotel, and take Hop On Hop Off tour of Florence by coach. See Palazzo Pitti, Boboli Gardens, The Duomo, Michelangelo’s David. Dinner next door to hotel, 7pm.

Sun Oct 27 A day to relax in Florence, sleep in, walkabout or taxi or Hop On/Hop Off to see what you missed before. Around dinner time, 5pm, let’s have a wine tasting/cooking class, and eat what we have made! Look for MaMa Florence Cooking School, Viale Petrarca 12.
Mon Oct 28 7am breakfast, taxi 8am, coach trip 8:45am Tour of Tuscany, from Firenze to San Gimignano, 10am, free time for 2 hours. Meet bus 12pm for lunch and wine tasting. On to the walled town of Monteriggioni for a half-hour break. We’ll make it to Siena by 3:30pm. One hour guided walking tour, then 2 hours of free time. Be sure to do some “grazing” before leaving Siena 6:30pm, return to Florence approx. 8pm. Let’s make it a pizza night at the hotel!
Tue Oct 29 9am breakfast, train trip 10:15am to Salerno, near Amalfi Coast. Lunch on train, arrive approx 1:45pm. Meet Flixbus shuttle to hotel, take time to relax, walkabout, or take a 3 to 6pm taxi tour of Vietri; this lovely coastal town climbs the mountainside, very famous for creating ceramic artwork. We’ll have dinner at hotel 7pm. Hotel La Lucertola, Vietri Sul Mare 011 39 089 210255 (3 nights)
Wed Oct 30 8am breakfast, Flixbus pickup 9am to tour the breathtaking scenery of the Amalfi Coast. Plenty of photo stops, lunch break in Amalfi, beautiful country villages, afternoon break in Positano, and back to our hotel for dinner 7pm.
Thu Oct 31 8am breakfast, taxi shuttle 8:45am to train, to tour Pompeii and Vesuvio. Learn the incredible history of this beautiful city abruptly destroyed by the volcano; take a drive and hike to the top of Vesuvius itself. Return by train at 6pm. Or, take this day on your own to rest, read, walk the beach. Or, take the day to tour the countryside of southern Italy on your own, to see family towns. Hotel dinner 7pm.
Fri Nov 1 8am breakfast, Flixbus shuttle 9am to Salerno, train trip 10am to Rome, arrive approx. 11:30am. It’s a short walk to hotel, leave bags, maybe a light lunch, and take Hop On Hop Off tour of Rome. We will begin with the Colosseum together at 3pm, then you're on your own for touring or napping! Dinner at Fiddler’s Elbow Irish Pub, 7pm.

Sat Nov 2 Wake up at your leisure; sleep in, read, hang out on the roof. Today, we tour the Vatican Museum 2:30pm and Sistine Chapel. See the famous art and artifacts of history, not only of Rome or Europe, but of the world. The rest of the day on your own to roam in Rome. Use your HOHO ticket to gadabout the city to see what you like. Tonight, find your own dinner in the city.
Sun Nov 3 Again, wake at your leisure today, to make Mass at Santa Maria Maggiore just around the corner, or St Peter’s Basilica, probably won’t see the Pope! Again, use your HOHO ticket to tour places you missed before. Try the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, the Trevi Fountain, etc. Dinner back at our hotel, rooftop restaurant 7pm.
Mon Nov 4 6am breakfast, Leonardo Express train 6:30am to the airport for our 9:55am nonstop flight back to Newark. Lunch & dinner served on flight. Land approx 2pm to meet our coach and head home.
